Senior Data Engineer - Tech Lead

The Engineering team has a remote-first culture and is passionate about making the world, and each other, better. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to serve as the technical leader of the team responsible for managing our data integrations. Data is what powers our platform and empowers our users. This is a very hands-on role that requires skills in engineering, data wrangling, and good old-fashioned customer charm for engaging both technical and clinical staff at hospitals.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee data specifications, technical designs, and customer-specific glossaries
  • Run client integration meetings, and work closely with hospital stakeholders and partners to obtain necessary data extracts and ensure timely integrations
  • Work with backend engineering and product to set technical direction for the data ingestion pipeline for performance, scale, and reliability
  • Manage, write, and maintain hospital data ingestion queries and configuration in our custom system
  • Manage data warehouse fidelity, ensuring stakeholders trust the data and understand both its opportunities and limitations
  • Ensure client data feeds remain operational and error-free
  • Assist sales team with pre-sales technical requirements and phased onboarding plans
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years SQL expertise
  • Experience with Python or similar programming language
  • Ability to perform data analysis using tools such as Excel or Stata
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in healthcare industry
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of hospital data protocols such as HL7 and FHIR
  • Experience with ETL, building or maintaining data ingestion pipelines
  • Clinical or direct patient care experience a plus
